In this uplifting new adaptation by Wendy Kesselman, Anne Frank emerges from history a living, lyrical, intensely gifted young girl, confronting her rapidly changing life and the increasing horror of her time with astonishing honesty, wit, and determination. An intense drama about the lives of eight people hiding from the Nazis in a concealed storage attic during the second world war, The Diary of Anne Frank captures the claustrophobic realities of their daily existence—their fear, their hope, their laughter, their grief—with chilling parallels to the times in which we live today.

Auditions and Show Canceled
Forest Moon Theater and its board of directors have decided that we must regretfully cancel auditions and postpone/cancel our production of the Diary of Anne Frank, due to the severity of the pandemic and Omicron infections, the current limited availability of testing, and the inability to reschedule rehearsals or performances. Unfortunately, we must base our decision on what we know today, and we are unable to forecast what conditions will be like in another month or two. Our concern for our audience and the fact that the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre no longer has a mask mandate nor a requirement that audience members be vaccinated—precautions that many other area performance venues do take—also factored into our decision. We do not want to set up a super-spreader event.

If you have already purchased tickets for a performance of this show, the Renaissance Centre should automatically issue you a refund without your having to request it. If you do not receive the refund, contact the Renaissance Centre box office (see below for phone number).
